Ponkapoag July 4
Started out at around 6 in the morning, the rain had just slowed so I could load the kayak on the truck. The rain was light when I hit the lake, fished the lili pads that where about 200 yards off the shore. The fishing was steady and fast and non stop. started by fishing with 5" senkos then changed over to a small popper for top water fishing. Could only get five pictures before the rain came down to hard to use the camera. Bass weights where between 1.11 and 3.8 lbs. the average was in the 2 lbs. plus range my scale could only record 10 fish but the end total was 20.8 lbs. also lost two large pickerel right at the kayak. little wet but all in all good day for three hours of fishing.
Nice day Roy. I spend a few hours at Buckmaster shaking down my new kayak. Caught a couple shorties in the process. But after your report I kinda wish I had gone to Ponki instead!
